Car Lighting & LED Headlight Upgrades in Calgary AB

Lighting is the cheapest change that makes a car feel different every time you get in. We fit interior and ambient lighting, exterior accents and underglow, and LED and HID headlight upgrades — wired properly, at our shop in northeast Calgary.

All of it is a wiring job underneath. Done well you never think about it again; done badly it flickers, drains the battery, or takes out a fuse on a cold morning.

Interior and ambient lighting

Footwell lighting is where most people start — a wash of colour in the front footwells, and usually the rear once they have seen it. From there: door panel and dash accents, cup holder and console lighting, boot lighting, and starlight headliners where fibre-optic points are set into the roof lining.

Most of what we fit is RGB — you pick the colour from your phone or a remote, set a scene, and change it whenever you like. We can also tie it to the ignition so it comes up when you unlock and fades out when you leave.

Underglow and exterior accents

Underglow under the sills and bumpers, rock lights in the wheel wells for trucks, grille and wheel accents. Exterior work has to be sealed properly and routed away from heat and road spray — a Calgary winter finds every shortcut in an outdoor install.

One honest note on colour: red and blue facing forward read as emergency vehicle lighting, and we will not fit them that way. Everything else we are happy to do, and we will tell you plainly what we would and would not put on our own vehicle.

LED and HID headlight upgrades

If your headlights are dim, yellow, or just the original halogens, an LED headlight upgrade is one of the biggest safety improvements you can make to an older vehicle — and one of the most commonly done badly.

We fit LED and HID conversions, replacement bulbs in the common sizes — H7, H11, 9005, 9006 and the rest — plus fog lights, halo and angel eye rings, and LED tail and brake light upgrades.

The part that matters: a bright bulb in the wrong housing throws glare at oncoming traffic and actually reduces what you can see. We check the housing is a projector or reflector suited to the bulb, get the beam pattern right, and deal with the CAN bus error messages and hyper-flashing that catch people who buy a kit online and fit it themselves. If your vehicle will not take a decent LED without the beam going everywhere, we will tell you that rather than sell you one.

Will it drain my battery or blow a fuse?

Not if it is wired to a switched circuit with the right fuse rating and gauge of wire. Most lighting problems we get called about are someone else’s install — a run spliced into whatever was nearest, or a strip fed from a circuit that was never meant to carry it. If yours is already misbehaving, that is an auto electrical job and we do those too.

What happens on the day

We talk through where you want light and what effect you are after, agree the price before we start, then fit it. Trim comes off and goes back on properly, wiring is loomed and secured out of sight, and you leave knowing how to control it. Lighting is often done alongside a car audio job while the trim is already out, which saves you a second visit.

Lifetime warranty on the installation

If anything we installed ever fails, bring it back and we will fix it — for as long as you own the vehicle. The lights themselves carry their manufacturer warranty.

Lighting questions

How much does car lighting cost?
It depends entirely on how much of the car you want lit and how much trim has to come apart. Tell us what you are picturing and we will quote it before any work starts.

Can I control it from my phone?
Yes — most of what we fit is app or remote controlled, with colour, brightness and effects.

Is underglow legal in Alberta?
Colour and placement are what matter. We will not fit red or blue facing forward. Beyond that we will talk you through what is sensible before we fit anything.

Will an LED headlight upgrade fit my car?
Usually, but not always well. Send us the year, make and model and we will tell you whether yours will give a clean beam pattern or whether you are better leaving it alone.

Can you fix lighting someone else installed?
Yes. Rewiring a bad job is a regular one for us.
