RC Car Entertainment is an automotive electronics and accessory installation shop in northeast Calgary. We are not a general mechanical repair shop, and — despite the name — we have nothing to do with remote-control hobby cars. The work here is the electrical and electronic side of a real vehicle: sound systems, phone integration, cameras, starters, lighting, and the power, ground and data connections that make all of it behave as though it came that way.
Most of what we do is installation and diagnosis on vehicles people already own. Some customers arrive knowing exactly which product they want. More arrive describing something else entirely — sound that has gone flat, a camera that keeps recording while the car is parked, a vehicle that is warm before they walk out to it in February — and we work out what actually fits that vehicle before anything is ordered or opened up.
Whichever service brought you here, the part you are actually paying for is the same: getting equipment into a vehicle so that it works, keeps working, and looks like it belongs. None of that is visible in a photograph, which is the awkward thing about this trade.
A lot of the work that comes through the door is not a fresh install. It is a system someone else fitted that never worked properly, an accessory that stopped working after a battery change, or a fault that three parts have already been thrown at. So we measure first. Replacing a component that was never broken is the expensive way to be wrong.
The same thinking applies to new work. Two vehicles can take the same equipment and still be different jobs — one interior gives you a seam to hide a cable in and the other does not, one needs an interface module and the other does not. Where the honest answer is that something will not work well on your vehicle, we would rather say so at the quoting stage than after the dash is apart.
We can fit many customer-supplied products, once we have confirmed the product suits your vehicle and the installation. Bring the gear and we will fit it properly.
The installation carries our workmanship warranty; the equipment itself carries whatever warranty the manufacturer gave you. If what you have bought is not a sensible match for the vehicle — the wrong size, the wrong power, something that will fight the factory system — we will tell you before we start rather than after. Tell us the vehicle and what you have, and we will confirm whether it fits before you book.
We work out of a unit in northeast Calgary, close to the airport industrial area, and customers come to us from across the city and the surrounding towns. Vehicles are worked on indoors, which matters here — a lot of this work is wiring behind trim, and January in Alberta is not the place to do it on a driveway.

Our installation workmanship carries a lifetime warranty — if something we installed develops a fault, bring it back and we will fix it, for as long as you own the vehicle. The equipment itself is covered by its manufacturer's warranty, whose length and terms vary by product.

We integrate with the factory wiring rather than cutting into it wherever the vehicle allows. Warranty terms are between you and your manufacturer, so if that is a concern, check your own warranty documentation and ask us how we intend to install on your vehicle.
It depends on the vehicle and the work — some jobs are a few hours, others are booked to the vehicle for longer. We will tell you what to expect when we quote, rather than after you arrive.
